Bergeron
2015-2016 school year
I am living my childhood dream as a teacher.
Abner Gibbs is my home away from home.

Dear Parents/Guardians and Students,

The 2015-2016 school year marks my twelfth year at Abner Gibbs.  I have found that each new school year brings with it something fun and exciting.

Third grade isa big transition year for students because they are moving from the primary tointermediate grades and there is an increase in expectations, both academically andbehaviorally.  In our classroom, we are a family for a year, so we are continuing to learn how to help one another SOAR so that everyone has a successful and enjoyable third grade experience.

It is my goal as an educator to facilitate student learning so that each child sees him/herself as a reader, writer andthinker.  I want every student in my classroom to come to school wanting to learn and feeling like they are an important member of the Abner Gibbs' community.  I have high expectations for all learners and hope that as the year goes on, the students in my classroom recognize their strengths and develop a well deserved confidence so that they can begin to have high expectations of themselves. "I think I can" statements will replace the overly used "I can't" phrases when things get tough.

Parent and teacher communication is an important piece to a child's success in school.  Please know that I am always available and can be contacted at school at (413) 572-6418 with questions or concerns throughout the year.  You may also email me at s.bergeron@schoolsofwestfield.org.   I have enjoyed meeting you at Open House, Parent/Teacher conferences and family nights at Abner Gibbs.

Respectfully,
Mrs. Stacy Bergeron
